MediaCore Capture is an extension of the Google Chrome web browser. This extension can capture your screen, including the web browser, applications, and desktop. It can also record webcam videos and audio input via a microphone.
MediaCore Capture can also overlay webcam videos on a screencast recording, which is very useful for preparing videos for presentations, assignments and demos.
After recording, you can download the video for further editing. The extension is equipped with a video sharing function, MediaCore Video Platform, but you can choose not to use this function and upload your video directly to YouTube, Vimeo or other popular video sharing sites.
Capture computer screen without Captivate
Adobe Captivate can do screen capturing like MediaCore Capture. However, if what you want is simply screencasting but not producing interactive tutorials, then this Google Chrome extension should be adequate to meet your need. To polish your final product, you may use a video editing application to remove the unnecessary footage.
Tips for using the product
If you would like to record the web page without title bar and toolbars, you may switch Google Chrome browser into fullscreen mode by pressing F11 and then zoom in the page by pressing both Ctrl and Plus (+) keys at the same time.
MediaCore Capture can output videos in WebM format. Video editing software like Movie Maker does not support videos in WebM format. You may have to convert the video into other formats (e.g. MP4) before further editing the video.
